Shared shuttle: SJO Airport → La Fortuna

Volcano Travel collects you at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) and takes you to La Fortuna in an air-conditioned tourist minibus with Wi-Fi and plenty of luggage space. It is the most direct way to reach the Arenal area without renting a car or stringing together public buses. Departures Two departures a day, at 09:00 and 14:30. The drive takes around 3 hours, and halfway through there is a stop to use the restroom, stretch your legs and buy a snack or a drink. Meeting your driver The service has five pickup points at the airport. On the morning of your transfer a Volcano Travel advisor contacts you by WhatsApp, phone or email to confirm which one your driver will be waiting at and at what exact time, taking your flight arrival into account. Arrival If your hotel sits inside La Fortuna Zone 1, you are dropped at reception. If it lies outside that area, a nearby drop-off point is agreed with you before the trip. Let the operator know in advance if you need wheelchair access, are carrying oversized luggage or travelling with a pet.
